How to clean and care for your toys (so they last)

Looking after your toys keeps them hygienic and working for longer. It only takes a minute.

Before the first use, and after every use

Wash with warm water and a mild, unscented soap, or a dedicated toy cleaner. Rinse well and pat dry with a clean, lint-free towel.

Cleaning by material

• Silicone, glass, stainless steel and ABS plastic are non-porous, so warm soapy water or toy cleaner gets them properly clean.
• TPE, TPR and "jelly" materials are porous and can hold on to bacteria. Clean them carefully, let them dry fully, and use a condom over them if they're shared.
• Toys with motors: only submerge them if they're labelled waterproof. Otherwise wipe them with a damp cloth and toy cleaner, and keep charging ports dry.

Charging

Use the cable supplied, and don't leave a toy charging for days. If it won't hold a charge after a long break, a full charge usually brings it back.

Storage

Store each toy separately in a pouch or its box, out of direct sunlight. Some materials react with each other if they're kept touching.

When to replace a toy

Replace it if you see cracks, tears, a sticky surface or discolouration you can't clean off, or if a waterproof seal is damaged.
